Sensitivity Reading and Feedback

Sensitivity Reading and Feedback

from $55.00

Many prominent and smaller name picture book authors have been removed from classrooms and libraries due to the offensive representation of historically marginalized groups.

Sensitivity reading is an essential part of developing a children's picture book. A sensitivity reading goal is to ensure that there are no unintentional bias, prejudice or offensive content in your story. This is for children’s picture book manuscript up to 2,000 words and includes:

  • Review of your manuscript for issues of stereotypical representation and instances of bias,

  • Manuscript feedback with comments and suggestions to avoid unintentional bias, prejudice or offensive content in your story.

I am a child literacy industry professional and published children’s book author with expertise in curriculum development, instruction and assessment. Feedback provided within 5-7 days.
